Employee growth platform Growth people can see.

Check-ins that clear obstacles, 1:1s, feedback, pulses, objectives, career paths and reviews in one place, building a record each employee owns. Every input leads somewhere, and managers get a lighter week, not another dashboard.

Objectives and career paths show what's next and what counts, backed by evidence.

Everything Growth includes

Nine connected parts, each built so that what people share comes back to them.

Check-ins

A one-minute check-in. Obstacles that get answered.

Members share mood, wins and anything in their way. Managers see it, respond and clear the way, so nothing goes into a void.

  • Mood, wins and obstaclesA short check-in on the team's cadence. Mood is shared only with the direct manager, never compared with others.
  • Obstacles that get answeredAnything getting in the way goes to the manager, with reminders and escalation if nobody answers.
  • Seen, replied and recognizedManagers mark check-ins seen, reply in a short conversation, take topics to the 1:1 or turn a win into a Spark.
A member's check-in (mood, a win and an obstacle) next to the manager's reply and the "Recognize this win" action.

1:1s

1:1s with a shared agenda and a memory.

A steady rhythm, topics both people add, and commitments that carry over until they're done.

  • A shared agendaBoth people add topics before the meeting. MeritForge suggests what's worth discussing: open obstacles, recent check-ins, objectives that need attention.
  • Notes and commitmentsShared notes for both, private notes for each, and commitments that follow you to the next meeting.
  • Covered when the manager is awayA covering manager can run 1:1s and answer obstacles while the direct manager is on leave.
A 1:1 page: the shared agenda with suggested topics, notes and the commitments carried over from last time.

Feedback

Feedback that goes somewhere.

Ask the people who saw your work, let colleagues vouch for what they've seen, and see what your input changed.

  • Feedback requestsAsk anyone about a piece of work with your own questions or company templates. Givers see what their input changed.
  • Vouches for quiet workColleagues can vouch for a strength or an achievement they've seen, which can later support a career claim.
  • Feedback roundsThe People team can run feedback rounds for a whole team, with the colleagues each person nominates reviewed by their manager.
A feedback request: who was asked, and two colleagues' answers to the same questions.

Pulses

Pulses people trust, and answer.

Short, confidential team questions. People answer from an email in a minute, results appear only once enough people answered, and teams see what changed because of them.

  • Confidential by designResults appear only after a minimum number of answers, with group sizes that protect individuals. Anyone can choose Prefer not to say.
  • From results to actionManagers record an action with an owner and a follow-up date, then share a "You said, we're doing" update with the team.
  • Measure againRecurring rounds show the before and after next to each action. Start from a library of ready-made pulses or write your own, and export results to Excel.

Objectives

Objectives backed by evidence.

Company, team and personal objectives on your own Seasons, with progress that comes from real work.

  • From company to personalObjectives at every level, aligned with each other, with categories and several owners or participants.
  • Measurable key resultsNumbers, thresholds or done/not done, plus confidence kept separate from status.
  • Evidence and validationAttach evidence or ask colleagues to confirm progress; managers validate at checkpoints and at the end of the Season.

Career paths

A visible way forward.

Career tracks describe what each role looks like. People work toward a target role with evidence and their colleagues' vouches.

  • Tracks, roles and competenciesEach role's expectations as observable behavior, ready-made templates in English and Spanish, and insignia for every role.
  • Claims with evidencePeople show they meet an expectation with evidence and colleagues' vouches; reviewers decide, and validations can expire for review.
  • Insignia for every stepEvery role and signature achievement earns its own insignia, shown on the person's profile and theirs to keep.

Self-assessments & readiness reviews

Reviews built on a Season of evidence.

At the end of each Season, people reflect on their objectives before talking with their manager. When someone is close to their next role, a readiness review brings every view together.

  • Season self-assessmentsEach person comments on their objectives and on the Season as a whole, with progress and evidence already filled in, then sends it to their manager for the conversation.
  • Readiness reviews for promotionsThe employee reviews themselves first, up to five colleagues add private input, and the manager rates each expectation of the target role with reasons.
  • A clear decisionEach review ends in Ready or Not yet with a summary the manager shares when they choose. Questions come from the company's own template for each role.

Growth Record & recaps

One record the employee owns.

Everything adds up: wins, feedback, recognition and evidence, each with its source. Reviews stop relying on memory.

  • A record built all yearContributions and evidence from every part of MeritForge, each linked to where it came from.
  • Season recapsA recap of each Season's wins and progress, which people can choose to share with the company.
  • Transparent accessEach person sees their own record and who looked at it.

Analytics

See how growth is going, Season by Season.

Participation, objectives, help, feedback, careers and celebrations in one view, compared with the last Season and the same time last year.

  • Six areas at a glanceParticipation, objectives, help and follow-through, feedback and giving, careers and celebrations, each with its trend.
  • Compare teams and SeasonsEvery measure by team and against the previous Season and last year, with charts and an export to CSV.
  • Private by designTeams too small to show are hidden, so no number points to one person.

Managers & HR

A lighter week for managers. A clear picture for HR.

Growth is designed around managers' time, and gives the People team what it needs without exposing individuals.

  • Your week and the Manager BriefWhat needs each person, in one place. Items clear themselves once handled, with at most three interruptions a day.
  • The People team briefWhere to look across teams: whether managers are acting, fairness, opportunity, workload and priorities, with minimum group sizes that protect individuals.
  • Season close and planningAt the end of a Season, managers validate objectives, see who needs a conversation and plan the next Season in one flow.

Connected

Everything connects, inside and out.

Each part of Growth feeds the next, and the tools your company already uses stay in the loop.

How one win travels

  1. Check-inMaya shares a win, and an obstacle her manager answers.
  2. 1:1Both come up on the next agenda.
  3. FeedbackPriya and Tom confirm what the work achieved.
  4. ObjectiveThe win and their confirmations become evidence.
  5. Career pathIt supports her claim for the next role.
  6. Growth RecordAll of it stays in her record, with its source.

Email, only when it matters

Obstacles, feedback and pulse requests and their reminders arrive by email in working hours, within a daily limit. Pulses can be answered straight from the email, without signing in.

AI assistants

People ask ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini about their week, their objectives or their next 1:1, and let them prepare check-ins and objective updates. Nothing is saved until they approve it in MeritForge.

Imports and exports

Bring in people, teams and managers, import each person's current role from XLS or CSV so career paths start from today, and export pulse results to Excel.

Better with Recognition

Turn a check-in win into a Spark, use recognition as evidence for objectives and career claims, and let Growth actions earn Honor and XP that count toward Treasury rewards.

Pricing

Simple per-seat pricing

Growth costs at most $4.25 per seat per month on average, or $5.15 with Recognition, and the average drops as your team grows. The first 10 seats are free in every package.

Questions about Growth

What is the Growth module?+

Growth brings check-ins, 1:1s, feedback, pulse surveys, objectives, career paths, self-assessments and readiness reviews into one place. Every input leads somewhere, everything adds up in a Growth Record each employee owns, and managers get a lighter week instead of another dashboard.

How do check-ins work?+

On the team's rhythm (weekly, fortnightly or monthly), people share their mood, a win and anything in their way in about a minute. Mood is shared only with the direct manager and never compared with others. Managers mark check-ins as seen, reply in a short conversation and can take topics to the next 1:1.

What happens when someone raises an obstacle?+

The obstacle goes to the manager, who answers it and can commit to an action with a date. If nobody answers, MeritForge sends reminders and can escalate it to the next manager or the People team. Open obstacles are also suggested for the next 1:1, so nothing goes into a void.

How do 1:1s work?+

Each pair has a steady rhythm and a shared agenda both people add to, with suggested topics such as open obstacles or recent check-ins. There are shared notes, private notes for each person and commitments that carry over until they are done. When a manager is away, a covering manager can run the 1:1s.

Are pulse surveys anonymous?+

Pulses are confidential by design. Results appear only after a minimum number of people have answered, they are shown for the group and never per person, and anyone can choose Prefer not to say. Managers can record an action and share a “You said, we're doing” update, and the next round shows what changed.

Does MeritForge support OKRs?+

Yes. Company, team and personal objectives have key results measured as numbers, thresholds or done and not done, with confidence kept separate from status. Progress can be backed by evidence and colleagues' confirmations, and managers validate objectives at checkpoints and at the end of each Season.

How do career paths work?+

Career tracks describe each role as observable expectations. People choose a target role and show they meet each expectation with evidence and colleagues' vouches, and a reviewer decides. Every role and signature achievement earns an insignia. Ready-made career templates are available in English and Spanish.

Can MeritForge help with promotion decisions?+

Yes, with readiness reviews. The employee reviews themselves first against the target role, up to five colleagues add private input, and the manager rates each expectation with reasons. The review ends in Ready or Not yet, and the manager decides when to share it. At the end of each Season, self-assessments prepare the conversation.

What is the Growth Record and who can see it?+

The Growth Record collects each person's wins, feedback, recognition, contributions and evidence, each linked to its source, plus a recap every Season. It has no score or ranking. It is visible to the person, their manager chain and the People team, and the person can see who opened it.

Does Growth replace performance reviews?+

It changes what they rest on. Instead of a once-a-year review written from memory, managers and employees arrive with a Season of check-ins, feedback, objectives and evidence, a self-assessment and, when someone is close to their next role, a readiness review.

Can we use Growth without Recognition?+

Yes. Growth works on its own. If you also use Recognition, check-in wins can become Sparks, recognition can count as evidence, and Growth activities can earn Honor and XP.

How much of managers' time does Growth take?+

Growth is designed around managers' time. Your week and the Manager Brief show what needs each person in one place, items clear themselves once handled, and MeritForge sends at most three interruptions a day. AI assistants can also prepare check-ins and updates for approval.
